Fairhill Flute Band

Fairhill flute band were formed in sept 1967, when York street Protestant boys folded. The band practices once a week, taking youth from the North Belfast area off the streets, learning them a range of musical instruments. Learners start from 11-12 and rest of band from 11-12. In a few words, bands are woven into the fabric of our society. It also instils a huge sense of discipline and pride into a member, imprinting on their minds, how they must work as a team, must obey rules, commands, in order to be able to walk with the band. This is all about the sense of pride in their local band, and their community. Band has approximately 35 members.
